EURECNET

IMEB n. f. has been a co-initiator and become a regular partner (and member of the steering "core group") of the international research project of the 6th Framework Program of the European Commission EUREC – European Network of Research Ethics Committees.

Project EUREC has been re-established since March 2011 also under the 7th Framework Program of the European Commission and entitled EURECNET. Activities of the EURECNET Project are focused on further development and strengthening of EUREC as a network of existing or emerging national networks (or similar structures) of research ethics committees (RECs) – first of all in the EU Member States. Later on, the participation of RECs networks from other European countries (or even countries outside Europe) is envisaged.

IMEB n. f., as a founding partner of EUREC, is directly involved as a partner in the FP7 EURECNET Project.

During the FP7 EURECNET Project International Conference – Challenges of Multicenter Studies in Europe, which took place on April 12 – 13, 2012 in Bratislava (see – here), the new Statutes of EUREC network was signed on April 12, 2012, in the Hall of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Nursing and of Professional Health Studies of the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava, to allow immediate registration of EUREC as a legal person. The aim is to ensure further effective existence and work of EUREC also after completion of the EURECNET Project. IMEB n. f., as the co-founding institution of EUREC, was represented at the signature ceremony by its director – prof. Jozef Glasa.
